National Volunteer Week at the end of April fills our hearts each year with gratitude for more than 1,000 people who give their time and talents to support our programs.
In a party to honor everyone this year, we bestowed awards to several standout volunteers who helped in kitchens and gardens, assembled furniture and offered haircuts, along with other efforts.
Our honorees included Gabriel Barkin, who coordinates helping hands to cook a monthly meal for the Mill Street Center emergency shelter as part of Stone Soup Marin. He’s part of our largest volunteer effort — delivering home-cooked dinners every night to people at the “front door” of our services. See the full list of honorees.
Thank you again for everyone who gives from the heart to our residents and programs. Our work wouldn’t be the same without you!
