Enjoy an evening of cocktails and stories with Jeff Burkhart, an award-winning bartender and author of “Twenty Years Behind Bars,” from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, at Fresh Starts Chef Events.

A longtime Marin County resident, Jeff writes the “Barfly” column appearing weekly in the Marin Independent Journal, which has been awarded top honors as “Best Column” by the California Newspaper Publishers Association.

He’ll mix up some favorite drinks to pair with a menu of tasty plates from our in-house team of team of professional chefs. The lineup:

  • Classic Vesper: Gin, Vodka and Tempus Fugit Kina L’Aero d’Or
  • Cucumber Gimlet: Fresh Lime, Cucumber Vodka, St. Germaine — Cucumber Gimlet Mocktail also available: Lime, Cucumber, Seedlip Spice
  • Old Favorite Old-Fashioned: King Floyd’s Orange Bitters, Simple Syrup, Bourbon
