Join us for the Grand Opening of Jonathan’s Place, our new shelter and housing program at 190 Mill St. in San Rafael. We’re celebrating with a new name for the former Mill Street Center to honor a special donor’s son, who experienced homelessness in Marin.

Our event is open to all from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25. Guests at the grand opening can tour the new building, hear from local leaders, and enjoy refreshments from the chefs and graduates of our Fresh Starts Culinary Academy. Cheer with us for the community investment and can-do spirit that will fulfill dreams of home!

Please note that parking for the grand opening will be 1/2 mile away at 100 Yacht Club Drive (the former Terrapin Crossroads restaurant) with free shuttle service to the new building. To protect everyone, face masks are strongly encouraged.

Jonathan’s Place stands on the same site where Homeward Bound has operated Marin County’s year-round emergency shelter since 1986. The transformation includes onsite parking, a modern and efficient shelter, and 32 new units of permanent supportive housing on the top two floors.

We have raised 99% of the funds for this $19 million project. Find out more about the services there and you can help launch our program.
