Fresh Starts Culinary Academy launched its new class on Feb. 14, greeting students with balloons and breakfast. The group focuses the first week on obtaining Food Handler certification, then moves to the kitchen to begin hands-on skills training.
This award-winning course provides 10 weeks of intensive learning in core culinary techniques, kitchen operations and front-of-house service. The training is approved by the American Culinary Federation and includes the opportunity to earn ServSafe Manager certification.
Along with instruction and practice in the kitchen, students receive professional development coaching and job placement assistance. Eligible students enroll at no cost for this program. Prospective students can apply online at any time.
Look for our graduates in a workplace near you! All of the eight students who graduated in January received employment offers and secured jobs within 10 days of completing their training.
