Homeward Bound has new volunteer roles for people who want to play a practical, hands-on part in ending homelessness. We’re working now to assemble the meal provider corps for our shelter services at Jonathan’s Place in San Rafael.
The volunteer cooks and ambassadors for Jonathan’s Place fill plates and hearts for people taking their first steps out of homelessness. Whether you bake, chop, deliver or serve, your efforts will provide a nightly meal that nourishes wellbeing for spirit and body.
This brand new building will offer shelter for 40+ adults. A sparkling fresh kitchen and dining room stand ready to begin serving participants, who have told us that meals can be the highlight of the day. One-time resident Archie P. vividly recalls dinner on his first night in our shelter: “It smelled so good, I actually cried.”
