Painting at Jonathan's Place

Our Jonathan’s Place building in San Rafael is the county’s only year-round emergency shelter for adults facing homelessness. The shelter provides 38 beds for people transitioning toward housing with case management, meals and help to access benefits or community resources.

We are looking for teams of 7 to 12 adult volunteers to help paint the interior hallway walls at the shelter. This project offers a tangible way to help provide a warm, dignified space while learning about our housing-focused services.

How You Can Help

Working in coordination with onsite staff, volunteer teams will paint the interior hallways using paint and materials provided by Homeward Bound of Marin.

Volunteer requirements:

  • Basic painting experience
  • Ability to work neatly and follow directions
  • Reliability and commitment to the full project
  • One designated group leader to communicate with staff
