We’re looking for volunteer groups to weed, plant and harvest in our gardens! If you want to help grow healthy food for our shelter meals and culinary training, we’d like to hear from you.
Homeward Bound of Marin maintains two gardens at New Beginnings Center in Novato: a 26-row produce garden and a courtyard garden that includes a mixture of containers and ground-level beds. We prefer to work with groups of 5 or more people who can schedule at least two hours on each work day with direction from our garden supervisor.
Families are welcome to participate; every volunteer under 16 years old must work side-by-side with an adult partner. We provide all tools – volunteers just need to bring sunscreen, hat and gloves.
Please contact Andrea Rey, our Volunteer Coordinator, by email at arey@hbofm.org to see how your group can get started.
