A segment on ABC World News Tonight put our hard-working Wagster Treats team in the spotlight! The feature from the “Made in America” series with David Muir shares the story of our mission-driven business with dog lovers across the country.
Wagster Treats operates as a social enterprise created by Homeward Bound of Marin to make a healthy product while employing graduates of our Fresh Starts Culinary Academy. Every batch is baked by a team overcoming homelessness and building job skills for the future.
With the amazing response by viewers, Wagster Treats experienced a complete sell-out of inventory within a few hours! Our team worked quickly to catch up with inventory and shipping to keep our naturally delicious treats headed to buyers as fast as possible. Our treats also are sold by Pet Food Express, Whole Foods in Northern California and independent pet retailers around the Bay Area. All proceeds from Wagster are re-invested in our training, shelter and housing programs.
Poised for growth, Wagster Treats will move next year into the new social enterprise hub under construction at our main campus in Novato. This new facility will include a manufacturing bakery and dedicated warehouse space. You can help Wagster fulfill its “pawsitive purpose” to open new futures when you make a gift to complete our new building.
