This pivotal role as the Director of Property Management is an opportunity to take charge of Homeward Bound’s portfolio of owned and leased properties, contributing to the success of our mission to end homelessness. The successful candidate will ensure the longevity of our properties and our ability to provide employees and program participants with safe, clean, and dignified spaces to work and live.
The Ideal Candidate:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented professional to oversee all of Homeward Bound’s owned and leased properties. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in property management, with a focus on building maintenance and preventive maintenance, financial oversight of work, and building and maintaining professional relationships. Required Qualifications:
- Familiar with all aspects of residential building maintenance. Knowledge of restaurant and/or manufacturing property maintenance is also valuable.
- Strong supervisory and management skills.
- Construction experience is strongly preferred and/or Certified Property Manager or similar designation.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, government regulations, loan documents, financial reports, regulatory agreements and other legal documents.
- Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from landlords, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively present information to top management and/or boards of directors.
Major Responsibilities:
Oversight of Facilities Team:
- Supervises Operations Manager and Facilities Supervisor with eight-member Facilities team.
- Oversees contracted custodial services.
- Evaluates effectiveness and efficiency of maintenance, grounds, and housekeeping operations.
- Communicates the work of the Facilities team to Leadership and Programs.
Oversight of Properties:
- Inspect properties regularly to ensure the highest standards are maintained.
- Plans and executes preventative maintenance strategy, including planning for long-term replacement of roofs, boilers, siding, and other major renovations.
- Works with the Finance department to develop the Facilities budget and works to contain costs within that budget.
- Ensure all work is permitted and meets city and state requirements. Ensures grant-funded work meets grant requirements.
- Maintains relationships with neighbors.
Landlord Relations & Lease Oversight:
- Serves as contact for landlords for leased properties. Proactively reach out to landlords to maintain strong relationships.
- With Program Coordinators, ensures units are maintained and respond to landlord concerns.

*$110K -$125K annually with a competitive benefits package which includes 100% employer-paid medical and dental insurance, 4 weeks accrued vacation, and access to a 403b retirement plan.
