Music, cheers and applause energized guests and staff at our Grand Opening party for Jonathan’s Place this week in San Rafael.

Guest speakers who cut the ribbon on our new shelter and housing building included Johnathan Logan of Marin Community Foundation, Benita McLarin of Marin County Health & Human Services, Marin County Supervisor Damon Connolly, San Rafael Vice Mayor Rachel Kertz and Bob Puett, president of our Board of Directors.

Jonathan’s Place offers a modern, efficient shelter and 32 permanent supportive housing units on two upper floors. Homeward Bound has operated adult shelter services at the site since 1986. Read more about the Grand Opening in the Marin Indepedent Journal.

In mid-September, shelter services will transition from an interim location back to Jonathan’s Place. Tenants in the supportive housing program will begin moving into their new homes in the next few weeks.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to creating Jonathan’s Place as a nexus for paths toward housing, health and hope in our community. To help launch the programs in our new building, you can give online or by check to Homeward Bound of Marin, 1385 N. Hamilton Parkway, Novato, CA 94949.
