Our newest housing program will start welcoming 18 residents home to Corte Madera in the next few weeks!

We celebrated a Community Open House on May 6, inviting dozens of neighbors and supporters to tour the studio units and community space created for adults exiting homelessness. The property at 1591 Casa Buena Drive formerly operated as a motel.

Prospective residents already have begun meeting with our onsite staff to learn more about the program and see the units. Each small apartment is equipped with a bed, wardrobe, table, and chairs, plus basics like dishes and linens.

The whole site next to Marin Joe’s restaurant got a makeover in recent months with kitchenettes and upgraded bathrooms for each unit, new landscaping and fences, new paint and a new roof. This housing community is the first to open in Marin County with support from the state’s Project Homekey.

Our naming contest for the new program remains open until May 15! If you have an idea, please email us – the winning entry will be awarded a $100 gift certificate to Marin Joe’s restaurant.

There’s still time to support the program by purchasing items from our wish list at Target to welcome residents into their new homes. Just place your order through our gift list and they will be delivered to Homeward Bound before the move-in date!
