Savor a cornucopia of talents this fall with Fresh Starts Chef Events! Tickets are on sale now for an evening of Italian wine on Thursday, Sept. 14, and a feast of soul food and stories on Tuesday, Oct. 24.
Award-winning sommelier Shelley Lindgren brings a new book, “Italian Wine,” in September, with food to match from co-author and chef Kate Leahy. The menu draws on recipes from Lindgren’s acclaimed restaurant, A16 in San Francisco.
Guests can taste current releases from Tansy Wines, which Lindgren founded to showcase Italian varietals with California roots. We will offer copies of “Italian Wine” for sale at the event. Get a personal autograph!
Chef Tanya Holland and author Anita Gail Jones celebrate National Book Month in October with recipe demonstrations from the chef’s “California Soul” cookbook published last year. Menu details coming soon!
The evening includes readings from the Novato author’s new novel, “The Peach Seed,” that chronicles a Southern family’s saga of love and challenge while carrying readers across decades of Black history.
Each guest at this event receives a book – choose from “California Soul“or “The Peach Seed.” All of our celebrity chef evenings include a three-course meal and two glasses of wine, if desired. Get tickets and see more details when you visit The Key Room online.
Fresh Starts Chef Events offer more than delicious food and culinary talent. They also give opportunities for graduates and students of Fresh Starts Culinary Academy to work with top chefs and build skills while serving our guests. All proceeds support shelter, housing and training programs at Homeward Bound of Marin.
