Family Center Clean Team
Join the Clean Team
The Family Center in San Rafael is the only emergency shelter for homeless families in Marin County. This home environment offers nine rooms for families transitioning out of homelessness, with shared kitchens, living rooms, bathroom and outdoor spaces.
We are looking for ad hoc teams of two to six people that can spend 2-4 hours cleaning and organizing. This is an excellent opportunity to provide direct assistance to participants and staff while learning about the complex issue of homelessness.
How to Help
Working under the supervision of program staff, the responsibilities include:
- Cleaning and preparing rooms to receive new families.
- Doing laundry for bedding and curtains.
- Occasional deep cleaning to include baseboards, drawers and shelves.
- Organizing and cleaning kitchens, pantry and living rooms.
Qualifications: We are looking for volunteers who bring good communication skills and a commitment to confidentiality.
