Join Our Corps of Meal Providers

Meals for Jonathan's Place

Homeward Bound of Marin is seeking groups to join the rotation of monthly meal providers at Jonathan’s Place shelter in San Rafael. Jonathan’s Place is the county’s only year-round emergency shelter for adults and accommodates up to 50 people every day. Your contribution not only provides food, but also nourishes connections and builds community for our participants.

We are looking for groups that can provide an evening meal to serve 50 adults. This can be a quarterly project or you can sign up for one night each month. Your group can be a congregation, service organization, or assorted friends, neighbors or colleagues.

Meals can be provided from stores like Costco, Safeway or United Market, or they can be made in an institutional kitchen like your school or church. Due to county regulations, we cannot receive any meals made in private homes.

Homeward Bound will be happy to provide support with tried-and-true recipes and advice based on the success of others in our meal corps.

The meal format is Main Dish, Two Side Dishes (vegetables, potatoes, pilaf, etc.), Salad and cookies for dessert.

Working with the staff cook at Jonathan’s Place, up to four members of the group can sign up to serve the meal that’s delivered.
